On Thursday, November 16th, we had the pleasure of hosting an exclusive finissage for our "Contemporary Expressions of Africa" exhibition in our gallery in Brussels.
The selling exhibition showcased a carefully curated selection of captivating African photographs and paintings by renowned artists such as Malick Sidibé, Seydou Keïta, Jean-Dominique Burton, Cheri Samba, and Philip Kwame Apagya. This event welcomed a select group of clients, providing a unique experience at the heart of contemporary African art.
The guided tour of the exhibition, led by our director and art specialist at Sotheby’s Belgium, Deborah Quackelbeen, added an enriching dimension to the evening. Clients had the opportunity to delve into the nuances and inspirations that shaped the exhibited works, offering a captivating glimpse into the contemporary African artistic panorama.
Following this artistic immersion, our guests had the opportunity to savor an equally refined culinary experience. A sumptuous caviar tasting was presented by our partner, Pearls of Persia. Mrs. Mojdeh Bashari and her brother orchestrated an exceptional tasting, sharing their passion and expertise on the fascinating world of caviar.
Two exquisite varieties were highlighted during this tasting. Firstly, a caviar raised in Uruguay captivated palates with its delicate texture and refined taste. Secondly, caviar from the waters between Russia and China was presented, offering an equally exceptional tasting experience.
This exhibition was more than just a closing ceremony; it brought together art, culture, and gastronomy in an elegant and convivial atmosphere.
